See Tinos Highlights in One Day
Discover the highlights of the enchanting island of Tinos in just one day! Our journey begins in the main town (Chora), where we will visit one of the best-known churches in Greece, the Panagia (Virgin Mary) of Tinos, which thousands of people visit each year, especially in mid-August during its annual celebration. From there, we will continue to Kardiani, a traditional picturesque village with impressive architecture and awe-inspiring views of the Aegean Sea.
Our next stop is the village of Pyrgos, known for its unique marble design and the birthplace of the famous marble sculptor Giannoulis Halepas whose unique life story and marble creations are not to be missed! A walk along the picturesque narrow streets and a stop for a coffee and pastry in the village’s famous square offers an authentic island experience. We will then visit the impressive, modern Marble Museum and learn about Tinos’ marble production since old times.
We will make our next stop for a refreshing swim at the organized sandy beach of Kolymbithra, after which we will make a stop at a nearby traditional tavern where you can indulge in local specialties (a la carte).
Finally, we will explore the mysteriously unique village of Volax, built on huge uncommon spherical rocks whose origin to this day remains a mystery, before we return back to Chora.
