One Day Tour to Santorini Island from Athens
Experience the magnificent Santorini island in just one day and prepare to be amazed seeing its entire villages situated on the cliff panoramically overlooking the astonishing Caldera, created by the volcanic eruption almost 3500 years ago.
Your tour begins early in the morning, with a comfortable pick-up from your hotel in Athens on time to get to the Athens airport and catch a short domestic flight to Santorini (50 min). Upon arrival in Santorini, your private vehicle will take you on a wonderful adventure around this photogenic island to see the best that the island has to offer.
This cultural – historical tour will stop by the most important landmarks and historical attractions, starting with the Akrotiri prehistoric town where you will learn about the advanced ancient civilization that once existed in Santorini before the volcanic eruption completely buried it in ashes until it was rediscovered in 1967. Then, you will learn about the local culture and visit a – typically not busy – village town of Megalochori where you can walk through the whitewashed houses and winding streets of a traditional village. Later, you will make a stop at the famous black beach (anyone who visits Santorini must pay a visit) for lunch (a la carte) and a swimming break.
From there you will be driven to Fira to enjoy a walk around the island’s capital, a busy but small town easy to explore on foot. Discover the maze of alleyways and hidden chapels, arching doorways, tucked away viewpoints, colorful flowers and sunbathing Aegean cats.
Finally, you will visit Oia, a small town known for its famous sunsets and whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops which overlook the one-of-a-kind Caldera with Nea and Palia Kammeni islets that were created by the volcanic eruption. This is the spot typically known for sunsets worldwide.
After a full day of discovery, you will be taken to Santorini airport, to fly back to Athens on another short flight (50 min), from where your driver will take you back to your hotel.
This tour is private for small groups of 1-9 participants and is offered in English language. Other languages (Italian, French, Spanish, Russian, and German) are available upon request at extra cost.
Children (2 – 10 years old) and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.
Please remember to prepare a beach bag (with bathing suits, beach towels etc) as you may choose to take a swim during your stay in the island.

One Day Tour to Santorini Island from Athens
Experience Santorini island in one day, the most famous Greek island with turbulent history, with the entire villages situated on the cliff panoramically overlooking the astonishing Caldera that was created by the volcanic eruption almost 3500 years ago.
Your tour begins early in the morning, when the air conditioned coach will pick you up from or near your hotel in Athens and take you to Piraeus port to embark on a ferry to Santorini. Enjoy a 5.5 hour cruise in the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea and arrive in Santorini at approximately 12:40. The minibus will drop you off at the main town of Fira, where you will witness the breathtaking view of the Caldera and walk through picturesque alleys and vibrant shopping market. Spend about 6 hours at your own leisure, visiting villages nearby or swimming on the black or red beach.
You may also choose an optional Oia tour supplement which with a small fee includes a round trip minibus transfer and a one hour walking tour in Oia, a small town known for its famous sunsets and whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops which overlook the one-of-the-kind Caldera with Nea and Palia Kammeni islets that were created by the volcanic eruption.
As the group returns from Oia, they will meet the rest in Fira town where everyone will be taken for a walk through the main town, before being transferred to Santorini port as the ferry departs at 18:30 and arrives to Piraeus port late evening, after which you will be taken back the center of Athens.
