This guided walking tour offers you the opportunity to explore the picturesque old neighborhood of Athens on foot, climb the slope of the Acropolis Hill for a guided visit of the majestic Parthenon and other great monuments such as Erechtheion, Nike Temple, Dionysus Theater and Sanctuary.
Begin your tour at the Hill of Pnyx, discovering the reason why it is the actual birthplace of the democratic governing system, and the power of the majority. Learn about the origin of words like panic and pandemic, and names like Europe, Athens, or Daphne, and be amazed by their true significance and the marvelous myths connected to them. Surprise yourself with details about the roots of phrases and words you actually use every day, deriving from Greek mythology.
After listening about the legendary disputes between the Greek Gods and humans, fate, and the afterlife, you will continue on the guided tour of the Acropolis, the most significant Greek monument. Entering the south slope of Acropolis hill, you will visit Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater before you walk up the slope leading to the Acropolis with its stunning architecture with many monuments built on top of its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens. Enjoy the panoramic view of magnificent Athens, where your guide will point to the significant spots of interest worth exploring, such as Mars Hill, Lycabettus Hill, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Zeus, and the Anafiotika neighborhood. The tour ends on top of the Acropolis.

Children (6-11 years old) and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.

Ancient Athens & Greek Mythology Tour
Begin your walking tour from Syntagma square and have a brief look at the ancient artifacts displayed in the metro’s museum. Then, pass by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House and watch the Changing of the Guards which is truly remarkable. Next, proceed to the National Gardens, Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. From there you’ll walk towards the Acropolis on the beautiful pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou.
