Get acquainted with the herbs of Amorgos, distinguish their aroma and appearance and learn everything about their culinary uses and amazing natural healing powers. As you wander though one of the picturesque villages of Amorgos, the tour stops at a traditional Amorgian house with distillery of essential oils, where you can witness the old traditional lifestyle and learn about the customs and the historical use of medical plants and their healing traditions since the ancient times.

The island of Amorgos has over 600 species of herbs and aromatic plants, including 40 endemic due to the island’s micro climate and unique geo-magnetic characteristics, while the herbs here have an essential oil yield significantly higher than the average and plants such as sage can be smelled all year long, while others like thyme produce high quality honey.

This interesting walk continues to the organic garden, while you will also enjoy a delicious salad snack made with fresh herbs from fertile soil of Amorgos.

This tour is semi private for small groups of 6-12 persons (maximum), or it can be arranged privately for 1-5 persons. The tour is offered in English and Greek language. Other languages (French, German) are available upon request at extra cost.

Children (4-12 years old) and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.
