If you want to learn everything about Greece and immerse yourself in history and mythology, this 7-days Grand tour has been carefully designed to combine the most important sites of Greece in just one week! Visit 6 major Unesco-listed sites (Ancient Theatre at Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi, Meteora and Vergina Treasures) as well as the Corinth Canal (that connects the Aegean with the Ionian Sea), the picturesque town of Nafplion (once the capital of Greece), vibrant Thessaloniki (the second largest city of Greece), the sacred Macedonian town of Dion and the Tomb of King Philip (father of Alexander the Great).

DAY 1: With a morning departure from your hotel, you will arrive at the 73-meters high Corinth Canal (24-meters wide, 6,343-meters long and 12 meters deep) which connects the Aegean with the Ionian Sea and separates mainland Greece from the Peloponnese peninsula.  We will make a short stop to capture the breathtaking view. Later, we will continue along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf, to arrive at the 1st Unesco-listed site the Sanctuary of Asklepios, the God of medicine, with the world-renowned ancient Theatre of Epidaurus famous for its exceptional acoustics. Later we will proceed to the beautiful seaport town of Nafplion for a brief stop to admire the view of the Venetian fortress of Palamidis and the fortified islet of Bourtzi. Continuing through the plain of Argos, we arrive at the 2nd UNESCO-listed site of our tour, Mycenae, where you will visit the famous Palace, the Lions Gate and the Tomb of King Agamemnon. We will end our first day with a drive through the Central Peloponnese, passing the towns of Tripoli and Megalopolis, arriving in Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, where you will stay overnight and enjoy your dinner at your hotel.

DAY 2: After breakfast, you will set off with your expert guide and visit the archaeological site of Olympia, built on the banks of the Alpheus River. Marvel at the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Continue via the city of Patra and cross the famous Rio–Antirrio Bridge, which is considered to be the longest and most modern in Europe, to reach Delphi where you will stay overnight and enjoy your dinner at your hotel.

DAY 3: Next morning, after breakfast, you will visit the archaeological site of Delphi, where the famous Oracle, Pythia, was seated giving her predictions for the future and it was believed that she channeled prophecies from Apollo himself. Delphi was considered

to be the center of the world (“Navel of the Earth”) because, according to mythology, it is here that the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world met. Walk around the ancient ruins and visit some of the most famous monuments such as the monument of the Argive Kings, the treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall, the monument of Platea and the Temple of Apollo. Also, visit the Delphi Museum with its outstanding exhibits such as the Naxian Sphinx, the Statue of Antinoos, the metopes of the Athenian treasury and the famous bronze Charioteer. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring Delphi at your own pace. You will stay overnight, and you will enjoy dinner at the hotel.

DAY 4:  After breakfast, you will depart towards Kalambaka which is built on the foot of Meterora rocks, driving through the town of Lamia and passing by numerous picturesque villages and small towns of Central Greece. In the afternoon you will explore the Meteora with its Byzantine Monasteries constructed on immense natural rock pillars and rounded boulders that dominate the area. Visit two Byzantine monasteries and get ready to be overwhelmed by the breathtaking view from the top of the rock towers. You will stay overnight in Kalambaka and enjoy your dinner at your hotel.

DAY 5: After breakfast, your tour continues with a drive past Trikala and Larissa in order to visit the sacred Macedonian town of Dion, that lies at the foot of Mount Olympus and owes its name to the most important Macedonian sanctuary dedicated to Zeus, the leader of the Gods, who dwelt on Mount Olympus.
