Mykonos Town Walking Tour
Embrace yourself on a 3-hour journey through the cosmopolitan Mykonos’ Chora, one of the most renowned Cycladic destinations worldwide. Picturesque landscapes and typical white-blue houses, that reveal their unique jetsetter aura and never-ending party scene, offer a glimpse of Mykonos’ authentic glamour.
You will begin your journey along the coastal paved road, passing by Manto Mavrogenous’ famous monument, a heroine of the Greek Independence war. You will continue through the pedestrian part of the vibrant Mykonos town, where you can wander along narrow alleys and cobbled paths to discover countless cafes, bars, restaurants, excellent shopping market, while you will also see the 3 wells, the home of Mavrogenous’ mother and the Maritime Museum. You will pass by a traditional, old wooden stove bakery, where you can indulge in a traditional delicacy from the bakery and a refreshment. From there you will reach the outskirt of the town, where you will spot the famous Windmills, standing proud on a hill at the edge of the town which offers magnificent views over the prominent Little Venice, one of the most popular neighbourhoods of the island. This area is not just a popular tourist attraction, but a district renowned for its colourfully painted Venetian type houses that stand above the sea. We will make a stop to admire the church of Panagia Paraportiani and the Folklore Museum, before reaching the famous St Nikolas’ church at the old port.
This tour is organized for groups with a minimum number of participants 2 or it can be arranged privately for up to 6 persons and is offered in English language. For larger groups up to 20, prices are available on request.
Children (4-11 years old) and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.
